150 research scientists at the service of industry
Life sciences are at the heart of the research conducted in the 8 laboratories at ENSA, organised in 4 major themes: Plant Biotechnology, Food Processing and Safety, Territories, sectors of quality food processing, socioeconomic development of rural areas, Environmental science and Engineering and land management.
Plant Biotechnology and its implication in Plant Improvement and Protection
Genomics and biotechnology of fruit (GBF)
Symbiosis and plant improvement (SP2)
Food Processing and Safety
Chemical engineering (LGC)
Animal tissues, Nutrition, Digestion, Ecosystems et Métabolism (TANDEM)
Territories, sectors of quality food processing, socioeconomic development of rural areas

Forestry dynamics in rural areas (DYNAFOR)
Agrosystems and territorial Development (AGIR)
Functional ecology (EcoLab)
The ENSAT works in close collaboration with national research organisations like the National Institute for Agronomic Research (INRA) or the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and numerous universities.
Research conducted at the ENSAT receives support from the Regional Council of the Midi-Pyrénées as well as National programs and European programs; the laboratories can also be involved in international consortia.
Each year, the ENSAT strengthens partnerships with more than 350 companies, research organisations and local collectivities through mandatory student placement for engineers in training and through research contracts focusing on technology transfer. In addition, a close link has been developed between regional and national economic interests in the domains of agriculture and food safety as well as public and private companies.
Students interested in a doctoral program can be accepted by one of the ENSAT laboratories.
Please contact directly the director of the laboratory.
