Royal Aeronautical Society and Rollys-Royce 2022 contest
The Toulouse branch of the RAeS (Royal Aeronautical Society) organizes an technical presentations annual competition, in the field of aeronautics and space.
Normally scheduled in February, the 2022 edition has been moved to April due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The preselections have just taken place. A student represented ENSAT in this international competition: Ziad Ghamrawi. This contest brings together engineering students, Master's students or other students from all over the world. They must present a subject linking their specialty and aeronautics or space.
Ziad qualified for the final round which took place on Tuesday April 19 but unfortunately, he did not win the trophy. He chose agriculture in space as his subject (Indoor farming/Controlled environment agriculture). It is a NASA research project that plans to grow plants in a controlled environment in space with two main objectives: food production and oxygen production. Ziad has worked on a vertical farm urban agriculture project in collaboration with the College of London.
He still won the trip to England, 100 euros and Airbus and Rolls Royce accessories as a finalist. Congratulations to him!
